Raised: $128

Trying to raise money for an important move so I can finally have my own room and more space for our things and just a better all place to be.

I will finally dub the rest of Lovestruck Derpy if I get enough donations to help with the move!

Anything that reaches the recording stage will be made eventually, but the edit and video goals will become a focus to get it done ASAP and then reaching 100% will get it released as soon as it can be.

Costs this should cover:

-Application Fee

-Deposit

-Rent for 2 apartments for the moving month

-Movers

-Moving our storage stuff

-Any fees for wear and tear on the old apartment

-Making our income look better

-Getting a new bed

To Donate:

Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/jitterbugjive

Paypal donate link is found on Lovestruck-Derpy’s blog page on browser.

Another way to track the current goal:

If you can’t donate, a reblog for signal boosting would be appreciated!

I will have more fundraiser goals on my mod blog @jitterbugjive later

IIRC, Glaze stops generative algorithms (I refuse to call it AI, it is NOT any kind of artificial intelligence) from adding art it's used on to their databases. The other one you heard of is probably Nightshade, which when used on art causes it to poison any datasets it gets added to, totally ruining the output of any GA that uses it. I think the way they work is by adding a small amount of carefully constructed noise to images that's basically impossible for people to see but which totally fucks with any GA that tries to use it as training data.

Oh okay! That’s very interesting. Thanks for letting me know.

I have heard it briefly mentioned that there’s something called Glaze that helps protect people’s art from AI? There’s also something else that I heard mentioned, but idk what it’s called.

Anyway, I don’t quite understand how it works, but apparently it does something to the art that confuses AI programs so that it’ll protect it even if we’re dealing with dumb companies not getting the hint we don’t want our stuff used for AI.

Otherwise, I’m not sure if there’s any good Tumblr-like site formats out there for alternative. We know Pillowfort, but until they step-up in their game they aren’t really a good alternative. There’s Bluesky though it’s more of a Twitter alternative. There’s Itaku which is kind of like a mix between Tumblr and Twitter. I’ve heard mention of something called Artgram, but considering the name I’d imagine the format is similar to Instagram which I’m not really interested in.

Idk if there’s any others out there that follow more of a Tumblr format for people to go to. I’m not sure where Askblogs could go since as far as I’m aware, there doesn’t seem to be any socials that have that sort of “ask questions” format (Maybe Itaku being the closest especially because I think they allow multi-accounts now and have an account switcher option?).

Remember when Deviantart also tried to auto-opt in everyone to having their art used for AI and everyone absolutely flipped their shit at DA to the point where DA had to change it to auto-opt out everyone instead?

Yeah, let’s do that again but at Tumblr so they make the “Prevent our stuff being used for AI” defaulted to on.

Idk why companies won’t get the hint that MOST artists don’t want their art used without their permission for AI stuff. Like, my dudes, we don’t even get paid for training these programs? Why the fuck would we want our art used for AI?

They are already selling data to midjourney, and it’s very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.

Account Settings -> Visibility to find the setting on mobile

They also quickly put out a long “tumblr is dedicated to protecting the data of its users blah blah blah” post. Then why isn’t the setting to opt out turned on by default then hm???

(It’s because nobody would turn it off obviously but still. Ultra scummy)

God that’s so annoying that you even have to go to each blog separately to activate the option :T

Commission for @remberedink

Buh, I’m really hungry right now, but don’t really have the funds to order something cheap to eat and I have no spoons today to make food or go to store.

I just want to sleep right now.
